Winner of 10-Men's Stylist Awards
Hot Off the Press: Lady Jane's Haircuts for Men's latest styling award has been given to us by NBC Channel 4 News. Now that's exciting!!! Why would men or boys choose anyone over Lady Janes Haircuts for Men? IT'S WICKED AWESOME!
Lady Janes has been the official haircutter of the Detroit Lions for 6 seasons now. "We don’t just support Coach Schwartz and the boys on the field, we support them in the community as well," says CEO Chad Johnson. That’s why Lady Janes will, once again, be a proud sponsor of the 2013 Detroit Lions Invitational to take place Monday, May 20th at the historic Detroit Golf Club.
Proceeds from this special event will benefit the Lions’ entirely new Living for the City philanthropic initiative. The program supports organizations that pursue integrated approaches to physical fitness, healthy eating, housing, land use and environmental planning. Plus, public transportation, community infrastructure and aligned workforce opportunities in the city.
"We’re looking forward to taking part in this special day for a special cause,” said Lady Janes President, Tim McCollum. “We love the Lions and we welcome the opportunity to do something special for the city.”
Fans can join the Lions players, Coach Jim Schwartz, Chad Johnson, Lions alumni and corporate partners as they tee-off in one of Metro Detroit’s most popular charity golf outings. The Lions Invitational has become a Detroit tradition that has raised over $6 million since it started in 1991.
“Lady Janes is a part of Detroit and Detroit is a big part of Lady Janes,” said CEO and owner, Chad Johnson. “We love this city and we love the Lions. The fact that we can play golf with them at the DGC for this cause is an absolute win-win."
Nothing says “Are you ready for some football?” like a friendly game of softball, and the fourth annual Lions Charity Softball Game is certain to be a classic, pitting some of Detroit’s most infamous pro ballers (and some other familiar celebrities) against each other on the diamond.
Sponsoring this sports extravaganza is none other than Lady Janes. LJ's partnership with the Lions has given them the chance to reach out to the community and be part of the fun. To spread happiness, get closer to the fans and raise money for some great charities.
“I’m really excited to keep this yearly tradition going,” said Lion linebacker, Stephen Tulloch, who has captained one of the teams in the game for the last two years and will do so again this year. “Raising money for both my and Nate’s foundation really helps kick start all the programs we run throughout the year here in the community.”
The event will happen June 8, 2013 at King Boring Field on Reckinger Rd. near the corner of Greenfield Rd. / Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI. The gates open at 1 p.m. with a Home Run Derby starting at 2, followed by the game. It’s open to the public and will cost $10 to enter the park (children under 5 are free).
“Anytime we get to participate in an event that raises money for some awesome charities, and is fun for the whole community, count us in,” said Chad Johnson, Owner of Lady Janes. “I can’t wait for this to go down.”
Johnson will be dusting off the glove and warming up the arm as he is slated to play in the game. The family-friendly event benefits the CATCH Foundation and the Stephen
Tulloch Foundation, as Lion’s WR, Nate Burleson captains a team that will play against LB Tulloch’s. Although the game is a fundraiser, in the spirit of competition, the trash talk has begun...
“I have some secret weapons I’m bringing in for my team this year so expect Team Tulloch to come out with a win,” Tulloch stated.
“Last year was the first year I hosted this event with Tully and of course, my team won and we’re looking forward to taking on Team Tulloch again,” Burleson said. “It’s just an overall great time, the fans get to come out, see all of us play softball, we get to interact with them and raise money for our foundations at the same time. It’s a great way to kick off the summer.”
As for Johnson, he has yet to decide on which team he will play. "It's a tough decision as I love tough defense like Tulloch offers, but Nate's offensive prowess is tempting too."
Past participating celebrities include, Detroit Lions Calvin Johnson, Louis Delmas, Jahvid Best, Sammie Hill, Willie Young, along with other NFL stars Austin Pettis, Cato June, Braylon Edwards, Usama Young, Aaron Maybin, Derrick Williams, former NFL all-pros Herman Moore and Lomas Brown, NBA players such as Jonas Jerebko, Charlie Villanueva, Tayshon Prince, Austin Daye, Rick Mahorn, Ben Wallace and more! This year should prove to, once again, be a star-studded event with some big surprises at the plate.
